You can have a solid marketing strategy and still stall on execution. The website refresh keeps getting pushed. The ad account sits untouched. The content calendar never quite launches. Marketing Execution is where the plan becomes real work, with someone leading it on your behalf.
How this fits with the other services
If you’re not sure where to start, Marketing Strategy is about figuring out what to do. Fractional CMO Services is ongoing senior marketing leadership. Marketing Operations & Oversight is for when you already have agencies or freelancers and need someone on your side keeping them accountable.
Marketing Execution is different: it’s managed support to get the marketing work done, with one person accountable for keeping it moving.
What I actually do
Depending on what you need, execution support can include:
- Websites — managing and coordinating updates, launches, and improvements tied to your marketing goals
- Digital advertising — overseeing setup, management, and adjustments across the channels that make sense for your business
- SEO & content — coordinating on-page work and guiding blog posts, landing pages, email drafts, and other assets that support your plan
- Campaign implementation — managing defined initiatives from plan to live work, with clear ownership and deadlines
- Your marketing voice — representing your interests with vendors, freelancers, and anyone else involved in the work
- Other agreed marketing work — if it’s part of the plan and within scope, I define it upfront
I work from your strategy: a document we built together, a roadmap from another engagement, or a clear brief you’ve already defined. The point is execution with direction, not a pile of random tasks.
When specialized production is required — development, design, paid media setup, or content production — I coordinate the right specialists and vendors. I don’t personally handle every technical task, but I remain responsible for making sure the work stays aligned with your strategy and goals.
How I work
I’m your primary marketing contact. You have one person who understands your strategy, represents your interests, and keeps execution moving — not a rotating cast of account managers.
Before anything starts, I agree on scope, priorities, and what done looks like. I keep you informed on progress, flag blockers early, and stay focused on work that connects back to your goals. When specialists are involved, I manage the coordination so you still have a single point of contact who speaks for your marketing.
Who this is a good fit for
This works well when you have a marketing plan (or a clear priority list) and need someone reliable to lead execution — whether that’s a defined project, a busy season where your team is stretched, or ongoing support for the day-to-day work that keeps marketing moving.
If you’re still figuring out what to do, start with strategy. If your main problem is an agency you’re already paying, Marketing Operations & Oversight is usually the better fit. If you need both execution and accountability, I can talk with you about how to combine them.
